EATON BRAY:

"EATON BRAY, a parish in the hundred of MANSHEAD, county of BEDFORD, 3 miles (W. by S.) from Dunstable, containing 816 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Bedford, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £12. 16. 3., and in the patronage of the Master and Fellows of Trinity College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place of worship forWesleyan Methodists. Here was anciently a castle, built by Cantilupe, Baron of Abergavenny, in 1221, of which nothing remains."
