"EVERSHOLT, a parish in the hundred of MANSHEAD, county of BEDFORD, 2½ miles (south-east) from Woburn, containing 870 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Bedford, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £16.11.8., and in the patronage of the Marquis or Downshire. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. There is a small sum for the education of children."
