"EVERSHOLT, a parish in the hundred of MANSHEAD, county of BEDFORD, 2 miles (E. by S.) from Woburn, containing 870 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Bedford, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £16. 11. 8., and in the patronage of the Marquis of Downshire. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. There is a small sum for the education of children."
