Curates of St Margaret's, Biddlesden

Brown Willis listed the following Curates for St. Margarets, which he extracted from the Bishop's Registers:

"Thomas Tayler 1639, 14 Car. I. who made his Return to the Bishop of this Curacy, viz. 'That a Stipend of 20l. per Annum was paid by the Lord of the Manor to the Minister, and 40s. per Annum more arose from other Demesnes, and that here belonged to the said Minister one Bay of an House and an upper Chamber thatch'd with a yard or Backside 12 Yards square.' After this Thomas Tayler, I find these other Persons occur Ministers or Curates here, viz.
John Lockwood, Anno 1662, 14 Car. II.
John Maddocks, Anno 1669.
Aaron Wood, Anno 1679. He was afterwards Rector of Greens Norton in Northamptonshire.
James Maddocks, Anno 1689. He held it Anno 1705, and was succeeded by
Thomas Lucas, Anno 1706 and 1707, on whose Death at London, of the Smallpox, Anno 1709,
William Price, rector of Whitfield, accepted it, Anno 1709, and he is the present Minister, 1735."
