AGDEN (near Malpas)

"AGDEN, a township in the parish of MALPAS, higher division of the hundred of BROXTON, county palatine of CHESTER, 2¾ miles (S. E.) from Malpas, containing 122 inhabitants.   • Agden was a township and chapelry in Malpas ancient parish, Broxton hundred (SJ 5143), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • The population was 90 in 1801, 98 in 1851, 60 in 1901, 60 in 1951, and 42 in 2001.
