  • Rock Ferry was a civil parish created in 1894 from part of Higher Bebington.
  • The civil parish was abolished in 1898 to become part of Birkenhead.
  • It included the hamlet of Rock Ferry and part of Woodhey.
  • The population was 2971 in 1901.

  • Rock Ferry: St. Barnabas (Church of England),. Built in 1895 as a chapel to St. Peter. Closed in 1978.
  • Rock Ferry: St. Anne (Roman Catholic), Highfield Road. Founded in 1862.
  • Rock Ferry, Baptist Chapel, New Chester Road. Founded in 1914.
  • Rock Ferry, United Reformed Church (Congregational). Records of baptisms 1870-1920 and marriages 1872-76 are at the Cheshire Record Office.
