WARDLE

"WARDLE, a township in that part of the parish of BUNBURY which is in the first division of the hundred of EDDISBURY, county palatine of CHESTER, 4¼ miles (N.W.) from Nantwich, containing 129 inhabitants.   • Wardle was a township in Bunbury ancient parish, Eddisbury hundred (SJ 6057), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • The population was 115 in 1801, 178 in 1851, 193 in 1901, 285 in 1951, and 181 in 2001.
