"BASSENTHWAITE, a parish and village in the ward of Allerdale-below-Derwent, in the county of Cumberland, 4½ miles to the N.W. of Keswick. It is situated in a district abounding in fine scenery, mountains, wood and water, on the banks of the river Derwent and the beautiful lake of Bassenthwaite. The lake, which lies at an elevation of 200 feet above the level of the sea is above 4 miles in length, and 1½ in breadth. Its western bank is well wooded; the eastern is highly cultivated, and indented with several pleasant bays." You can also perform a more selective search for
churches in the Bassenthwaite area
that are recorded in the GENUKI church database. This will also help
identify other churches in nearby townships and/or parishes. You also have the option to see the
of the churches marked on a map.
Ask for a calculation of the distance from Bassenthwaite to another place.
