CAMERTON, Cumberland
"CAMERTON, (or Cammerton), a parish in the ward of Allerdale-below-Derwent, in the county of Cumberland, 5 miles to the W. of Cockermouth. Workington is its post town. It is a station on the Cockermouth and Workington railway. The parish is situated on the coast of the Solway Frith, on the N. bank of the river Derwent, which is here crossed by a handsome stone bridge of three arches. It contains the townships of Camerton and Seaton."
