Blackwell by Chelmorton 1891 CENSUS, Derbyshire

Transcription from film/fiche of original Census returns held by The National Archives.
Registrar's Sub-District of Tideswell
Enumeration District 1
Blackwell in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St Michael Taddington (part of)
Wheston in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St John the Baptist Tideswell (part of)

Sadly, the portion of the page which recorded the Description of Boundaries and Contents of Enumeration District for Blackwell and Wheston has been torn off, and no longer survives.
The Enumerator was Mr. William B Goodwin.

This transcription has been compiled from microfiche GS#6097887 on loan to me from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) as part of the FreeCEN project. Please note that this presentation of the underlying database is to match existing transcriptions, and is not how you'll see it once it's incorporated into the FreeCEN database.

Addresses contain Folio ('F'), Page ('P') and Census Schedule ('S') Numbering - for example 'F18/P1/S1' - Folio 18, Page 1, Schedule 1. The Folio is the number hand-stamped at the top right of each odd-numbered page and the Schedule is the household sequence adopted for the Census return. This is not necessarily a house number, nor even an indication that particular households are next to each other, but merely the order the Enumerator recorded the households.

In 1891 the Census form included three columns to be marked if the person was "Employer", "Employee", or "Neither". This transcription (and FreeCEN) encapsulate this as a single letter here enclosed in SQUARE [] BRACKETS, which when present will follow the Occupation field and indicate whether the person was an Employer ('R'), Employee ('E') or "Neither Employer nor Employed" ('N').
