GLEANINGS IN THE PEAK AND WEST DERBYSHIRE … “Let us now go into the fields and glean”.
Hope Valley (Bradwell, Hathersage, Bamford, Castleton, Etc.)
On Saturday the members of the Girls Club at Edale Cotton Mill held a special evening for the children of the village, when a fancy dress party was held. Tea was provided with crackers, sweets, and fruit following later. Prizes were given for the best costumes, the successful children being Vera Bottom (gipsy), Edie Eyre (fairy), Herbert Deighton (nurse), and George Mallinson (sailor). After tea the children indulged in games and dancing.
