Description and Travel
"NETHER PADLEY, a hamlet in the parish of Hope, hundred of High Peak, county Derby, 6 miles N.E. of Bakewell, and 2½ N.E. of Stoney-Middleton. It is situated on the river Derwent.

Historical Geography
- Nether Padley was formerly a Township of Hope parish. It was transferred to Eyam in 1911; then in 1987 it became part of the "modern" parish of Grindleford.
