Unless otherwise stated, original copies of Wills dated prior to 1858 are usually found in the appropriate Diocesan Record Office for the court where the Will was proved - for Derbyshire, this is the Lichfield Joint Record Office. Copies of Wills for which Probate was granted at the PCC (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) may be obtained via the DocumentsOnline website.

Registered copies of Wills dated after 1858 may be found at the Probate Department of The Principal Registry Family Division (Probate Search Room, First Avenue House, 42-49 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6NP), at local Registries, and sometimes on microfilm at County Record Offices. Further information on post-1858 Wills, and forms for obtaining copies by post may be found on the Government's "Court Service" Wills & Probate pages.

"being ould resigne my soul into the hands of almighty god my powerfull creatour...";   my grandchildren Wm MOSLEY and Mary MOSLEY - one ewe and a lambe (each);   to Elizab. MOSLEY - "my best wasekett and my brown coat and my bleu lynsey coat and my ?best? tafel navkin";   to Richard MOSLEY - one shilling;   to ould Anne Mosley - my red cloake;   to Anne MOSLEY the younger - my red undercoat,   to Barbery BRADSHAW - my gray coate;   to Lawrence TAYLOUR - one shilling;   to all my godchildren - one shilling (each);   "the residue of all my whole Stoke and State" to sons Thomas MOSLEY, Edward Mosley and Joseph MOSLEY "equally devided".
Sealed and delivered in ye presents of us: Abraham SIDALL (his mark);   John WILKSON (his mark);   and Robert HILL(sg).   Margrett MOSLEY X, her mark, and seal (a blot).
Inventory by: Richard OUTTREM (his mark);   Thoams HALLOM (his mark);   Robert HILL (sg), 3 Sep 1684. Total: £62-4-4.
Proved Chesterfield 14 Oct 1684, Jo: LOBLEY, Sur., to Thomas MOSLEY and  Edward MOSLEY.
Note: The estate was administered by an Edward MOSELY during Thomas and Edward's minority. Edward senior was most probably Margaret's nephew and son of Richard MOSLEY (likely to be her late husband William MOSLEY's brother) and his wife "ould Anne". However it isn't clear why this was necessary when Thomas himself should have been able to administer. Thomas was the father of the grandchildren William and Mary, and at least in his mid-twenties by then, with son Edward being the only one still under 21.
