"SINFIN MOOR, a hamlet in the township of Alvaston, parish of Derby St. Michael, county Derby, 3 miles S.E. of Derby, near the river Derwent."

Sinfin is probably best known today for being the main centre for Rolls-Royce. There is a 60-acre nature preserve on the edge of the community.
