Black background with gold lettering, reads -
Mrs. EDWARD RADFORD, the wife of EDWARD
RADFORD, Esquire, of Tansley Wood, the
Founder of this Church, caused a piece of
land situated in this Parish & containing
nearly Six Acres & a half, being parcel of
the allotment numbered 149 on the enclosure
award of Tansley, to be conveyed by an Indenture
dated the fifteenth day of August 1867, and
enrolled in the Court of Chancery on the
following day to uses for the maintenance,
support, or benefit of the National School
established in this Parish.

This font came originally from
St. James' Church, Derwent
now submerged beneath
the Ladybower Reservoir.
It was given by Henry Balguy
in 1672 and was placed
in this Church in 1978

OF SEXTON IN THIS PARISH FOR 42 YEARS
