Tideswell, War Memorial

War Memorial - Tideswell, Derbyshire

The War Memorial is sited directly in front of the end wall of St Thomas's Church in Tideswell. It consists of a tall cross set on a large oblong base divided into three panels.

The inscription on the front reads:-

In Ever
Loving Memory of
The Men of This Town
Who Gave Their Lives
For Their Country's
Sake in The Great War
1914-1919.
And The World War
1939-1945.

Sacrifice Giving Up Their Own
Lives That Others Might Live
In Freedom.

Let Those Who Come After
See To It That Their Names
Are Not Forgotten.
