WARDLOW, Derbyshire - Extract from National Gazetteer, 1868

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer (1868)]
"WARDLOW, a township in the parishes of Bakewell and Hope, hundred of High Peake, county Derby, 4 miles N.W. of Bakewell, and 2 S.E. of Tideswell. A cairn with stone coffins was opened here in 1755."

"WARDLOW MIRES, a hamlet in the townships of Great Hucklow and Litton, hundred of High Peake, county Derby."
