In the Name of God AmenI Peter Cranch Lieutenant in his Majestys 79th Regimt of Foot now residing at Batavia in the East Indies being of Sound Mind and Memory and understanding Do make this my last Will and Testament in Form and manner following (that is to say) I Give and bequeath unto my Affectionate Father Peter Cranch and to my Affectionate Mother Mary Cranch the Sum of Thirty pounds Sterling each and to my Brother John Cranch and my Sister Elizabeth Cranch Twenty pounds each but in Case my Father Peter Cranch or my Mother Mary Cranch either of them or both Should Depart this life before my decease then [-] tis my Will that it be Equally Divided between my Brother John Cranch and my Sister Elizabeth Cranch I Give unto my Friend Elizabeth [Burtt] living in Guilford in Surry the sum of fifty pounds Sterling all the rest and residue of my Estate of what Kind or nature soever that I now am or may be possessed of at the time of my Decease wheresoever and how soever in any manner of wise my Just Debts Legacys and funeral Charges being first paid I give and bequeath unto John Peter [Burtt] the son of above Elizabeth [Burtt] born of her body in September 1761, but in Case the aforesaid Peter [Burtt] should Depart this life before my then it is my Will that what remains over and above the Legacys at the time of my Decease shall be equally Divided between my Father Peter Cranch my Mother Mary Cranch my Brother and Sister John and Elizabeth Cranch and my Friend Elizabeth [Burtt] and it is my Request that the within Legacys be paid as soon as

Can be after the Collecting of my Estate I Nominate and Appoint Francis DuPont Captain in his Majestys 79 Regiment Mr William Fleming Mr Robert [Mc] Nab Lieutenants in the aforesaid Regiment and Mr Thomas Madge Lieutenant in his Majestys 96th Regiment the Executors of this my last Will and Testament Earnestly requesting them to Collect the amount of my Estate as soon as can be after my decease I do hereby Revoke Annul and set aside all other and former Wills Legacys and Testaments at any time heretofore made and Given by me hereby publishing and declaring this sheet of writing paper to be and [conttain] my only true last Will and Testament I Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal in Batavia this Twenty Eight day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty four Peter Cranch

On the third Day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy one Administration (with the Will annexed) of the Goods Chattels and Credits of Peter Cranch formerly a Lieutenant in his Majestys Seventy Ninth Regiment of Foot but later a Captain in the Service of the Honourable East India Company on the coast of Coromandel deceased was Granted to Thomas Greenaway otherwise Greenway the lawful Attorney of Thomas Madge one of the Surviving Executors named in the said will as well for the use and benefit of the said Thomas Madge as well for the use and benefit of Francis DuPont and Robert [Mc] Nab the other Surviving Executors named in the said will now residing in the East Indies he having been first Sworn duly to Administer.
