ASHCOMBE, a parish in the hundred of EXMINSTER, county of DEVON, 3 miles (E.) from Chudleigh, containing 283 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £18, and in the patronage of the Crown. Here are two charity schools, one of which has an endowment of £3 per annum, and the other is supported by subscription.
