BEAFORD, a parish in the hundred of SHEBBEAR, county of DEVON, 4¾ miles (S. E. by E.) from Great Torrington, containing 582 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £11. 15. 7½., and in the patronage of J. Russel, Esq. The church is dedicated to All Saints.
