Will of Joseph STEER of Bovey Tracey, Gentleman (1852)

This is the last Will and Testament of me, Joseph STEER of Bovey Tracey,
Gentleman, in the County of Devon. After payment of all my just debts,
Funeral and Testamentary Expences, I give devise and bequeath unto Jane Ann
MEAD a House known as Bridge End Cottage in the parish of Bovey Tracey in
the County of Devon, with the Garden attached thereto and that Elizabeth
PINSENT, my present Servant, Mother of the aforesaid, who was born before
marriage, shall be entitled to reside, occupie [sic] or let and take the
rent of the above given House, until Jane Ann MEAD shall attain the age of
Twenty one years. Also to Thomas MANN Younger [sic] of Bovey Tracey,
Schoolmaster, I give devise and bequeath the sum of Five pounds lawful money
upon Trust that he, the said Thomas MANN the younger, shall place the same
in the Devon and Exeter Savings Bank to the account and credit of Jane Ann
MEAD the aforesaid, and that the said sum of Five pounds together with the
Interest or profit accruing on it, shall be paid to the said Jane Ann MEAD
on her attaining the age of Twenty one years and that all the rest, residue
and remainder of my real Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever
the same me may[?] be, I give devise and bequeath the same unto Elizabeth
PINSENT, my present Servant, and Hugh COLLANDER of Bovey Tracey, Cordwainer,
and I hereby appoint the said Elizabeth PINSENT and Hugh COLLANDER Executors
of this my will, set my hand and seal this third day of December in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Joseph STEER the Testator
as for his last Will and Testament in the joint presence of us who at the
same time at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other
have hereunto suscribed our names as witnesses

Joseph STEER died 23rd March 1852 : will proved by Elizabeth PINSENT, wife
of John PINSENT, Labourer, on 5th June 1852. Effects sworn as under One
Hundred Pounds.
