BRADFORD

"BRADFORD, a parish in the hundred of Black Torrington, in the county of Devon, 6 miles to the N.E. of Holsworthy. Hatherleigh is its post town. It is situated on the banks of the river Torridge. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Exeter, of the value of £308, in the patronage of the Rector of East Down, and others. The church is dedicated to All Saints. The charitable endowments, including a bequest by William Bickford, in 1745, for education, are worth £14 a year."
