In the Name of God Amen I Sarah Whiddon of Chagford in the County of Devon Spinster being of a sound and disposing Mind and Memory for which I return Thanks to God and seriously considering the Uncertainty of this Life And the Certainty of Death do for Preventing and avoiding every dispute and Controversy as might otherwise happen to arise touching my Temporal Estate after my decease make publish and declare this to be my only last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) And first I recommend my Soul to God who gave it hoping thro his Mercy and the Merits and Satisfaction of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to Obtain Pardon for all my Sins and to Inherit Eternal Life And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executrix herein after Named And now for Settling what God in his Mercy hath bestowed upon me I give and dispose thereof in manner following (that is to say) ffirst I direct all my just Debts and the Expences of my ffuneral be fully paid and discharged And from and after Payment thereof I give and devise unto my Cousin Susanna Rennison of the Parish of Eggburton in the said County of Devon All that my Messuage and Tenement with the Appurtenances called or commonly known by the Name of Teigncombe otherwise Tingcombe or situate lying and being at Teigncombe otherwise Tingcombe in the said County of Devon And also all that my Messuage and Tenement with the Appurtenances called or commonly known by the Name or Names of fford otherwise Lasford otherwise fford Green or otherwise situate lying and being in fford otherwise Lasford otherwise fford Green within the Parish of Dunsford in the said County of Devon And all other my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments fields or Closes of Land and Premises situate and lying in the said County of Devon which were the Lands of Inheritance of my ffather John Whiddon deceased and which I am Intitled unto as his only Surviving Daughter and Heiress at Law To hold the same unto my said Cousin Susanna Rennison her Heirs and Assigns for ever Subject and charged to and with the Payment of my just Debts and the Expences of my ffuneral as aforesaid All the Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Lands Tenements fields or Closes of Land Hereditaments real and Personal Estate whatsoever by me not hereinbefore particularly given devised and bequeathed I give devise and bequeath the same unto my said Cousin Susanna Rennison whom I do hereby nominate and Appoint sole Executrix and Residuary Legatee of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Will or Wills by me heretofore made And do Ordain and ratify these Presents to stand and be for my only last Will and Testament In Testimoy whereof to this my last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this thirteenth day of April in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third (by the Grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three Sarah Whiddon
