COFFINSWELL, a parish in the hundred of HAYTOR, county of DEVON, 3 miles (S. E. by E.) from Newton Bushell, containing 255 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of St. Mary Church, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Exeter. The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
