On Some Further Documents Relating to Crediton Minster

Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 14, (1882), pp. 247-277.

by

James Bridge Davidson

Prepared by Michael Steer

This paper, presented at the Association's July 1882 Crediton meeting relates to a paper on early Crediton Church history delivered at the 1878 Paignton meeting. The earlier presentation focussed on five ancient deeds. These generally related to the property or rights of the Minster, and all five formed part of a 21 document roll from Crediton held in the British Museum (Cotton I & II). The present paper deals with the contents of the remaining 16 documents in the roll. These are first presented in Latin, followed by abstracts in English. Only names taken from the English abstracts are indexed. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the University of Michigan Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
