This is the last Will and Testament of me John Greenham of Dalwood in the County of Devon Yeoman as follows (that is to say) I give unto Henry Squire of Chard the sum of twenty pounds I give unto Anne the wife of Joseph Jeffers of Chaffcombe the sum of twenty pounds for her sole use and benefit independent of her said husband and her receipt alone to be a discharge for the same I give to Maria Jeffers daughter of the said Joseph Jeffers the sum of fifty pounds I give unto Sarah Veyer daughter of the said Joseph Jeffers the sum of Ten pounds I give to Robert Notley of Hawkchurch my brother in law the sum of Twenty Pounds I give to John William Ann and Sarah sons and daughters of the late William Read the sum of Ten Pounds each I give to Isaac Ruth Robert and James Drayton of Tytherly in the Parish of Chardstock the sum of ten pounds each which legacies shall be considered vested and shall be paid and payable at the expiration of twelve months after my decease I give devise and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Catherine her heirs executors administrators and assigns all my freehold leasehold and copyhold Estates lands and tenements and all my money security for money and all lands and tenements vested in me by way of mortgage as security for money and all my Stock goods chattels estate and effects whatsoever or wheresoever subject to the payment of my just debts funeral expences and the above legacies for her own use benefit and disposal as she may think proper and lastly I appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my Will In Witness whereof I the said John Greenham have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this eighth day of July one thousand eight hundred and thirty one _ John Greenham
