DUNCHIDEOCK, a parish in the hundred of EXMINSTER,county of DEVON, 4½ miles (S. W. by W.) fromExeter, containing 200 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, ratedin the king's books at £14. 17. 1. Sir L. V. Palk, Bart,was patron in 1793. The church, dedicated to the HolyTrinity, contains a handsome monument to the memoryof General L. Lawrence, Commander-in-chief in Indiaabout the middle of the last century. Here is a housefor the poor to live in, capable of receiving eighty persons.
