Will of William Farwell, Ironmonger of Exeter

In the Name of God Amen I William ffarwell of the City of Exon Ironmonger being weake of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God for the same doe make this my Last Will and Testament (hereby revokeing and making void all former Wills by me made) And first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting in and through the Merits and mediation of Jesus Christ to receive full pardon of all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting Life And as to the Worldly Estate wherewith God has pleased to bless me and bestow upon me I give Devise and bequeath the same in manner and forme following (that is to say) Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Jane Bayley Daughter of my Son in Law Edwd Bayley of the City of Exon Ironmonger the Sume of Two Hundred Pounds to be paid unto her at the Age of One and Twenty yeares or on the day of her Marriage which shall first happen Item I give and bequeath unto Mr Gregg Minister Twenty Shillings Item I give unto Hannah Tanner (now living with me as a Servant) the Sume of ffive Pounds at the End of Three months next after my Decease Item I give and bequeath unto Goody Milton the Sume of Twenty Shillings All the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattells Rights and Credits not herein and hereby before given and bequeathed I give Devise and bequeath unto my said Son in Law Edward Bayley whome I do make and appoint my whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament And as to the above mentioned bequest unto Hannah Tanner I Doe hereby Declare my Will and meaning to be that in Case the said Hannah Tanner shall happen to dye within the Space of Three months next after my decease That then the Executors or Administrators of the said Hannah Tanner shall not be intitled to the said ffive pounds But the said Bequest shall be void and of none effect In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale the ffive and Twentieth day of December Anno Dm 1718 (the mark of William ffarwell)
