This is the last Will and Testament of me Gilbert Hearder Cole of Knighton in the parish of Exmouth in the County of Devon, Master in His Britannic Majesty's Navy.
In the first part I direct all the debts which I might owe at my death to be full repaid as well as the expenses of proving this my Will and of my funeral and subject thereto I give, devise and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Cole all my real and Personal Estates to hold, derive and take the same unto and to the use and for the benefit of the said Elizabeth Cole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof the above named Testator Gilbert Hearder Cole have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.
G H Cole signed sealed and published and declared the above named Testator Gilbert Hearder Cole as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of each other and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses. Richd. Gillard. Thos. Edwards. Samuel Langley. Proved at London the 3rd August 1843 before the judge by the oath of Elizabeth Cole, Widow, the Relict, the sole Executrix to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer.

A Thomas Cole, mariner married Susanna Hearder, daughter of Rev Gilbert Hearder, 29th February1780.
Children:- Thomas Hearder Cole, born 12 October 1780, Gilbert Hearder Cole, born 2 September 1782, Humphrey, baptised 3 October 1786, Henry, baptised 12 August 1789, Judith, born 21 August 1798, William, born 21 August 1798, George, baptised 22 July 1802.
Thomas Hearder Cole, bachelor, married Mary Diamond Blackwell, spinster, 26th July 1844 at St John's Newfoundland, witnesses, John Noon, William G Daymond.
