HUXHAM, a parish in the hundred of WONFORD county of DEVON; 3¾ miles (N. N. E.) from Exeter, containing 173 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to that of Poltimore, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter rated in the king's books at £8. 6. 8., and in the patronage of the Rev; Richard Bampfylde. There are mines of manganese in this parish.
