HIGHWEEK VOLUNTEERS
WE the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Privates of the HIGHWEEK COMPANY of VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, in the County of Devon, commanded by JOHN GREEN, Esq. do Pledge ourselves in the most solemn Manner, to protect to the utmost of our Power, our King and Country, against Foreign or Domestic Enemies, and the Civil Power in inforcing due Obedience to the Law; and we request our Captain will transmit this our determined Resolutions, to the Lord Lieutenant of the County, or Deputy Lieutenant of the County, and to the General of the District.

To the Right Honorable the LORD LIEUTENANT, to the MAGISTRATES of the County of Devon, and to Lieut. General SIMCOE, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Forces within the Western District of this Kingdom.
WE, the Officers, Non-commissioned Officers, and Privates of the HONITON VOLUNTEERS, commanded by CAPTAIN JAMES TOWNSEND, beg Leave, in the present alarming Crisis of Affairs, to repeat our Pledges of Service, and in the most solemn Manner to avow it to be our Determination, collectively and individually, to march whenever called upon, to suppress any riotous or unlawful Assemby, collected for any Purpose whatever.

WE, the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Privates of the AXMINSTER COMPANY of VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, hasten to join our Brother Soldiers, the Honiton Volunteers, in renewing, as they have done, our Pledges of Service, and in the most solemn Manner to avow it to be our Determination, collectively and individually, to march whenever called upon, to suppress any riotous or unlawful Assemby, collected for any Purpose whatever; and publicly to declare our unalterable Resolution to maintain the Laws of our Country.
