SHELDON, a parish in the hundred of HAYRIDGE, county of DEVON, 7 miles (E. by N.) from Cullompton, containing 186 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, endowed with £600 private benefaction, and £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of John R. Drewe, Esq, The church is dedicated to St. James.
