Sole executrix Elizabeth Jarvis of Slapton aforesaid widow.

Proven in the Archdeaconry Court of Totnes 12th September 1844

NO. 1 FOR EXECUTORS

Appeared personally Elizabeth Jarvis of the Parish of Slapton in the County of Devon Widow of the sole .....................
Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of Abraham Jarvis late of the Parish of Slapton aforesaid and Archdeaconry of Totnes Yeoman deceased .......on the 20th day of March 1844 and made oath that she has made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceases, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and to the best of her knowledge, information, and belief, the whole Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the said deceased died possessed, within the Archdeaconry of Totnes and Providence of Canterbury (exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed of, or intitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons , and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estates for years of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting any ting on account of Debts due and owing from the Deceased), are under the Value of Two Hundred .......pounds And this Deponent further saith that the deceased had no Personal Estate and Effects at the time of his Decease within the Province of York to which she this Deponent need to Administer.

Every such Affidavit to be exempt from Stamp Duty, and to be transmitted t the Commissioners of Stamps, together with the Copy of the Will to which it shall relate, under Penalty of 50 £


In the name of God Amen I Abraham Jarvis of Heathfield in the Parish of Slapton and in the County of Devon Yeoman being of sound mind & memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life Do make and publish and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following First I recommend my soul to Almighty God and desire that my body may be buried in a decent Christian like manner and that all my just debts as shall be owing at my decease and my Funeral charges be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named and all my worldly goods which it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of as follows. I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife all my goods and chattels and all other effects whatsoever for her sole use and benefit during her natural life and my desire is that after her decease all that remains or she possessed of the said in property shall be divided amongst my children which shall then be living in such proportions and in such manner as she shall think right and just and order to be done: But if she shall happen to be married again after my decease then my desire is that all and anything that she shall have or be possessed of at that time shall be valued and sold and one third part of the amount shall be for her use and property and the remainder to be divided among my children as before mentioned and I hereby nominate and appoint Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament she doing and performing all things as before specified. In Witness whereof I have set my Hand and Seal this thirtieth day of April In the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two.
