Joint Executrixes Elizabeth White Jarvis and Anne Jarvis both of South Huish aforesaid Spinsters.

from Persons applying for Probates of Wills and
Letters of Administration, of the Value of Personal
Estate and Effects of the Deceased.

NO 1. FOR EXECUTORS

Elizabeth White Jarvis and Anne Jarvis both of the Parish of South Huish in the County of Devon ~~~ Spinsters the joint
Executrixes named in the last Will and Testament (A) of Elizabeth Jarvis late of South Huish aforesaid Wife of Abraham Jarvis of South Huish aforesaid yeoman who died on the Fifth Day of May 1824 (B) make Oath and say that (C) they have made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and to the best of their knowledge , information and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the Deceased died Possessed, within the (D) Archdeaconry of Totnes, in the Province of Canterbury, (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or intitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially; but including the Leasehold Estates for years, of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable of Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased) are under the value of Fifteen Hundred Pounds and then Deponents further (E) say that the Deceased had (F) no Personal Estate and Effects at the time of her decease within the Province of York to which they these Deponents (G) need to Administer.

Every such Affidavit to be exempt from Stamp Duty, and to be transmitted to the Commissioners of Stamps, together with a Copy of the Will to which it shall relate, under Penalty of £50.

The Last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Jarvis wife of Abraham Jarvis of the Parish of South Huish in the County of Devon Yeoman who being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make and publish the same this Eighth Day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and [...........] in manner following that is to say Whereas my late Aunt Grace Soper deceased by her Last Will and Testament bearing date on or about the Eighth day of January which was in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Nine after giving several legacies gave and bequeathed all the rest and received after goods and chattels personal and testamentary Estate whatsoever unto me separate and apart from my said husband and to be at my sole and separate disposal and appointed me sole Executrix of her said Will by means whereof I became [.....] of money] articles of [......] and [....] sums of money and other personal property which is now at my separate disposal in [.........] and by virtue of the said Will. Now I do herby by virtue of the powers and authority vested in me by the said will give and bequeath unto Mr John Lidstone William Adams of Lower Row in the Parish of Malborough Yeoman and to Mr John Lidstone of the Parish of South Huish aforesaid Yeoman and the survivor of them the sum of Three hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain being part of the money which I have a right to dispose of under my said Aunt Sopers Will Upon Trust to find and place the same at Interest on any publick or private security and to pay and apply the Dividend Interest and proceeds thereof as the same shall [....] and secured during the lifetime of my Daughter Mary the wife of John Huxham unto my said daughter Mary Huxham to and for her own sole use and benefit separate and apart from her said husband and so as the same may not be subject or liable to his control Debts or engagements and from and immediately after the decease of my said daughter Mary Huxham Then upon trust to pay over the said sum of Three Hundred Pounds or to assign over the securities on which the same may be then due and outstanding unto and amongst all and every the children of my said daughter Mary Huxham in such parts shares and [.......] names and form as she my said daughter Mary Huxham shall by my writing under her hand or by her last will and testament in writing order first appoint give or bequeath the same or any part thereof and in default of such order direction appointment gift or bequest upon trust to pay the same unto and amongst all and every the children of my said daughter Mary Huxham and the same of any deceased child or children which may be living at the time of my said daughters decease share and share alike equally to be divided between them the same of any deceased child or children to be entitled only to the same share as his her or their parent or family would have been entitled if then be living. Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary Huxham the striped arm chair (Elizabeth Jarvis) which was my late Aunt Soper. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth White Jarvis a silver tea pot and stand, sugar bason, cream bason and ladle. Quart, Pint and Half Pint silver cups which belonged to my late Aunt Grace Soper marked W.B/G and also my late Uncle Sopers silver watch. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Jarvis all the remainder of the [....] and [....] which were bequeathed to me or to which I became entitled under by my virtue of the said Will of my late deceased Aunt Grace Soper or which were given either to me or to any person in Trust for me by the Last Will and Testament of my late mother. Also all the rest residue and remainder of the money securities for money goods chattels personal and Testamentary Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever to which I am entitled and have the power of disposing of either under or by virtue of the Will of my late Aunt Grace Soper deceased or under or by virtue of the Will of my deceased mother I do hereby give and bequeath the same unto my daughters Elizabeth White Jarvis and Anne Jarvis share and share alike equally to be divided between them and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said daughters Elizabeth White Jarvis and Anne Jarvis residuary legates and joint Trustees of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have to this my last will written or contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal ( that is to say my hand only to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this last sheet thereof the day and year first before written.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix the words 'White' being first interlined in the first line of the first sheet and the words 'in the County of Devon' being and interlined between the first [....] [....] lines of the last sheet as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
