In the name of God Amen, the tenth day of october in the year of our Ld God one Thousand seven hundred and Twelve, I Emm Halls, wife of John Halls of Chittlehampton viccar; Bejng in good health, And in perfect minde & memory, (praised be God) ffor the same, Doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form ffollowjng, ffirst and principally I Commit and Bequeath my Soule, into the hands of Almighty God, my Maker and Redeemer, praying and hopeing to receive ffree pardon and fforgiveness for all my sins, And my Body to the Earth, to be Decently Buryed in South Molton Church, soe near William Thorne my late Husband as Conveniently it may be placed, by my Executor here after named, And for all my worldly goods, I doe Dispose of them as ffolloweth,

Item I give unto the poore of South Molton Ten shillings to be given in Bread within one mounth after my Death, Item I give unto Robert Mare my Brother ffive shillings to be paid in one year after my Death, Item I give unto Hugh Mare my Brother, to his wife and all there Children ffive shillings a peice to be paid within one year after my death, I give unto Hugh Burgess, English Burgess, Margaret Burgess, Luce Burgess, And Emm Burgess, Sons and Daughters of Anthony Burgess of Warkly one shilling a peice to be paid within one year after my death, Item: I give unto Prissilla Ayre ffive shillings to be paid unto her within one year after my death, Item I give unto John Thorne of South Molton one Guinney to paid within year after my death, It where as I have ffive Gould Rings, I give the Best of them unto Mary the Daughter of the afore said John Thorne, I also give unto her the said Mary Thorne my best Black Silk Gown and Coat of the same to be Delivered to her within Ten Days after my death, Item I give unto Elizabeth the wife of the afore named John Thorne my next Best Gould Ring to be delivered within Ten Days after my death, Item I give unto Elizabeth the wife of William Eveleigh my next Best Gould Ring to be delivered within Ten Days after my death, Item I give unto Mary the daughter of John Thorne of Butterly my next best Gould Ring, The other Gould Ring I give unto Joan Mare my Kinswoman daughter of Hugh Mare my Brother, to be delivered unto her within Ten Days after my death, Item I give unto Mary Mare my Brothers wife her Two Daughters and unto Luce Burgess all my wareing apparell Both Linnen and Woollen equally to be devided between them within Ten days after my death, All the Rest of my goods Chattels and Credits not here in given and Bequeathed I give unto Hugh Mare my kinsman whom I doe make and ordain my whole & sole Executor of this my last Will and testament, In witness where of I have here unto set my hand & seale the day & year above said 1712
