Will of Aaron Strugnell, Quarterman, belonging to His Majesty's Yard at Plymouth of Stoke Damerel

In the Name of God Amen I Aaron Strugnell of the Parish of Stoke Damerell in the County of Devon a Quarterman belonging to his Majestys Yard at Plymouth being at present weak in Body but of Sound and disposing mind and memory do for avoiding controversies after my decease make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) ffirst I recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it me and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And as to the Worldly Estate and Effects which it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as follows I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother Walter Strugnell of Stoke Damerell aforesaid a Quarterman also belonging to the Yard the Sum of Nine hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain Item I give devise and bequeath unto Susannah Seaton Daughter of Elizabeth Michael my late deceased Sister the Sum of two hundred and fifty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain And in case my said Brother Walter Strugnell should die in the life time of my Wife Mary Strugnell then I give devise and bequeath unto the said Susannah Seaton a further Sum of two hundred and fifty pounds making together the sum of five hundred pounds Item I give devise and bequeath unto John Andrews a Clerk in the Navy Office London Mary Andrews and Ann Andrews Son and Daughters or William Andrews Purveyor of his Majestys Yard aforesaid the Sum of one hundred pounds each of lawful Money of Great Britain all the before mentioned Legacies not to be Paid or Payable until after the death of my Wife Mary Strugnell who I desire will order and direct her Executors or Admors to pay the same within twelve Months next after her decease And my Will and meaning is And in case my said Brother Walter Strugnell shall die in the life time of my said Wife Mary Strugnell then I give and bequeath the nine hundred Pounds hereinbefore given to him unto my said Wife to dispose thereof as She shall think Proper All the rest residue and remainder of my Messuages Lands Tenements Monies Goods Plate Chattels Rights Credits and Effects of what nature or kind soever which I am Interested in or intitled unto or which I shall die possessed of or Interested in or intitled unto I give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Strugnall who I do hereby nominate and appoint sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said Aaron Strugnell have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal the ffourteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy three A Strugnell
