STOKE-RIVERS, a parish in the hundred of SHERWILL, county of DEVON, 5 miles (E. by N.) from Barnstaple, containing 291 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £14. 14. 7., and in the patronage of the Rev. Charles Hieras. The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
