WOOLFARDISWORTHY, a parish in the hundred of WITHERIDGE, county of DEVON, 6 miles (N. by W.) from Crediton, containing 213 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £9. 19. 4½., and in the patronage of the Rev. Thomas Brent. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Berry Castle, an ancient Roman encampment, is in this parish.
