"UGLEY, a parish in the hundred of CLAVERING, county of ESSEX, 3½ miles (N.) from Stansted-Mountfitchet, containing 329 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the jurisdiction of the Commissary of Essex and Herts, concurrently with the Consistorial Court of the Bishop of London, rated in the; king's books at £14. 13.4., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Governors of Christ's Hospital, London.
