"ASHCHURCH, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Tewkesbury, in the county of Gloucester, 2 miles to the N.E. of Tewkesbury, its post town. It lies on the borders of Worcestershire, and comprises the tythings of Aston-upon-Carron, Fiddington-with-Natton, Northway-with-Newton, and Pamington. It is a station on the Bristol and Birmingham section of the Midland Counties railway. The river Carron flows through the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £270, in the patronage of the Rev. J. Askew, incumbent. The church is chiefly in the perpendicular style, with a tower, and has a Norman porch. It is dedicated to St. Nicholas. This parish has a mineral spring of similar character to the Cheltenham waters."

"NEWTON WITH NORTHWAY, a tything in the parish of Ashchurch, lower division of the hundred of Tewkesbury, county Gloucester, 2 miles E. of Tewkesbury."

"NORTHWAY AND NEWTON, a tything in the parish of Ashchurch, lower division of the hundred of Tewkesbury, county Gloucester, 2 miles N.E. of Tewkesbury."

"PAMINGTON, a tything in the parish of Ashchurch, lower division of the hundred of Tewkesbury, county Gloucester, half a mile S.E. of Ashchurch, and 2½ miles E. of Tewkesbury. It is situated on a branch of the river Severn."
