"BROCKWORTH, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Dudstone and King's Barton, in the county of Gloucester, 3 miles to the S.E. of Gloucester. It is situated at the foot of the Cotswold hills, and is crossed by the ancient Ermine Street. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £150, in the patronage of J. Watts, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. George. The charitable endowments produce £5 a year. The village is a meet for the Cotswold hounds."
