THIS INDENTURE of four Parts made the twentieth Day of May in the Fortieth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and so forth, and in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred BETWEEN Mary Bond of Stroud, in the County of Gloucester, spinster, of the first part, Thomas Workman of Estcombs in the Parish of Bisley in the County of Gloucester, Broad-Weaver, of the second Part, The Reverend Thomas Williams of Escombs aforesaid, the Reverend Laurence Butterworth of Evesham in the County of Worcester, Richard Hudson of Wick near Pershore in the County of Worcester, Esquire, The Reverend John Rowlands and The Reverend John Smith, both of Pershore aforesaid, Benjamin Bedford of Burlingham near Pershore aforesaid, Gentleman, The Reverend John Davis of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester, The Reverend Thomas Flint of the Parish of Horsley in the County of Gloucester, The Reverend Thomas Simmonds of Wottonunderedge in the same County, The Reverend William Belcher of Worcester, The Reverend Thomas Edmonds of Upton upon Severn in the County of Worcester The Reverend Doctor John Ryland and The Reverend John Sharp both of the City of Bristol, of the third part, and The Reverend Thomas Williams above named of the fourth part.

WHEREAS in and by a certain Indenture of Mortgage bearing date the Tenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Six and made or mentioned to be made between the above named Thomas Workman of the one part and John White of the City of Gloucester, Porter Merchant of the other part. It is Witnessed that for the considerations therein mentioned, He the said Thomas Workman, Did Grant, Bargain, Sell and Demise unto the said John White, his Exors. Admors. and assigns amongst other Lands and Premises therein particularly described ALL that Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House then tofore in the possession or occupation of one James Gurner, but then of the said Thomas Workman or his Tenants together with the Garden or Garden Grounds thereunto adjoining and belonging, containing by Estimation about three quarters of an Acre (be the same more or less) situate at Estcombs aforesaid, all which Premises are now in the Occupation of John Workman, Son of the said Thomas Workman (party hereto) together with All Houses, outhouses, Edifices, Buildings, Gardens Courts, Yards, Backsides, Out Lets, Ways, Waters, Watercourses, Trees, Hedges, Ditches, Mounds, Bounds, Fences, Commons, Common of Pasture, Profits, Commodities, Easements and Appurts. whatsoever to the said Premises belonging or in any wise appertaining. And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, rents, issues, profits and services of All the said Premises TO HOLD unto the said John White, his Exors. Admors. and Assigns from thenceforth for and during and unto the full end and Term of five hundred years from thence next ensuing and fully to be compleat and ended. Subject to a provisoe therein contained for redemption of the said Premises on payment being made by the said Thomas Workman his Heirs, Exors, Admors. and Assigns unto the said John White, his Exors. Admors. or Assigns of the Sum of thirty five pounds with Interest for the same after the Rate and in the manner as therein is mentioned as by the said Indenture reference being thereunto had may and will appear AND WHEREAS the said Premises (with other Lands and Premises) for and during all the rest, residue and remainder of the said Term of five hundred years are now become vested in the said Mary Bond (party hereto) for securing to her the repayment of the Sum of thirty pounds and lawful Interest upon which Security there is now due the Sum of thirty Pounds, and no more. AND WHEREAS the said Thomas Williams (party hereto) hath contracted and agreed with the said Thomas Workman for the purchase of the fee Simple and Inheritance of the said Premises free from all Incumbrances with free liberty to dig Stone in a Quarry adjoining the said premises for and at the price of Sum of Fifty Pounds, and it was agreed that the term of five hundred years for all the residue thereof should be assigned in manner and in Trust as hereinafter mentioned, and it was also Agreed by and between all the said Parties hereto that the said Premises should be conveyed to the uses upon the Trusts and for the ends, intents and purposes and subject to such provisoes and agreements as are hereinafter mentioned and expressed of and concerning the same.

NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of the Sum of thirty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain (so due to the maid Mary Bond in hand at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents well and truly paid by the said Thomas Williams) by and with consent and approbation of the said Thomas Workman testified by his being made a party to and joining in the Execution of these presents, the receipt and payment whereof she doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Doth Acquit, Release and Discharge the said Thomas Williams and Thomas Workman, their Heirs , Exors, Amors. and Assigns and every of them for ever by these Presents. She, the said Mary Bond (at the like special Instance and request direction and Appointment of the said Thomas Workman testified as aforesaid) HATH assigned transferred and set over unto the said Thomas Williams, his Exors. Admors. end Assigns, All and singular the said Messuage, Tenement or Dwelling house, Garden and all other the premises above particularly mentioned and described and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurts. and also all the Estate, Right, Title,. Interest, Term and Terms of years to come and unexpired property challenge claim and demand whatsoever as well in Equity as in Law of her the said Mary Bond of into or out of the same. To have and to hold the said Messuage, Tenement or Dwelling House, Garden and all other the Premises above mentioned and hereby assigned and set over or hereby so intended to be and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurts. unto the said Thomas Williams his Exors. Minors. and Assigns from thenceforth for and during all the rest, residue and remainder of the said Term of five hundred years which are now to come and unexpired in as full and ample a manner to all intents and purposes as she the said Mary Bond might have held and enjoyed the same in case these Presents had not been made freed and discharged from all provisoes for redemption of the said Premises IN TRUST NEVERTHELESS and to and for such uses, ends, intents and purposes and subject to such Provisoes and Agreements as are hereinafter expressed and declared of and concerning the same and to and for none other Use, Intent, Trust or Purpose whatsoever. And the said Mary Bond for herself, her Exors. and Admors. Doth hereby Covenant and Declare to and with the said Thomas Williams his Exors. Admors. and Assigns that she the said Mary Bond hath not at any time heretofore made done committed consented to or wittingly or willingly suffered to be done any Act, Deed, Matter or Thing whatsoever whereby or wherewith or by reason or means whereof the Premises before mentioned or any part thereof or the residue and remainder or the said Term of five hundred years thereof Granted as aforesaid now to come and unexpired is, are, can, shall or may be anyways impeached, charged, affected or incumbered, surrendered forfeited or otherwise avoided. AND THIS INDENTURE FURTHER WITNESSETH that for, and in consideration of the sum of twenty Pounds of like lawful Money of Great Britain to the said Thomas Workman in hand at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by the said Thomas Williams well and truly paid (being the remainder of the said purchase Money)the receipt whereof He, the said Thomas Workman doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Doth quit, release and discharge the said Thomas Williams his Heirs, Exors. Admors. and Assigns and every of them for ever by these Presents and for and in consideration also of the Sum of five Shillings of like lawful Money of Great Britain by the said Lawrence Butterworth Richard Hudson, John Rowland, and John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns. All that Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House heretofore in the possession, occupation of one James Gurner deceased, since of the said Thomas Workman (party hereto) but now of John Workman his Son together with the Garden or Garden Ground thereunto adjoining and belonging, containing by estimation three quarters of an Acre (be the same more or less) situate at Estcombs in the Parish of Bisley in the County of Gloucester, together with full liberty of Ingress, Egress, way and passage at all times hereafter to and for the said Thomas William, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns, Agents, Servants and Workmen to dig stones and till the Quarry or Quarry pits of the said Thomas Workman adjoining the above granted Premises and with Horses, Carts and Carriages to carry away the same for the Building and Erecting a Chappel on the above granted Premises together with all Houses , Outhouses , Edifices , Buildings, Gardens , Orchards , Court Yards, Backsides, Ways, Waters, Water Courses, Trees, Hedges, Ditches, Mounds, Bounds, Fences, Commons, Profits, Advantages , Heretitaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the above granted Premises belonging or in any wise appertaining or therewith now held, used, occupied or enjoyed as part, parcel or member thereof or as appurtenant thereunto and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits of ALL the said Premises, and also All the Estate, Right , Title, Interest, Use Trust , Possession, Property, Challenge, Claim and Demand whatsoever as well in Equity as in Law of him the said Thomas Workman, of, into or out of the same together with all Deeds, Evidences and Writings, touching, concerning or relating to the Title of the said Premises or any part thereof now in the hands, custody, power or keeping of him the said Thomas Workman or which he can or may get, come by, or procure, without Suit at Law or in Equity TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Messuage, Tenement or Dwelling house, Garden, Garden Ground and All other the Premises above mentioned and hereby granted enfeoffed or hereby so intended to be and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurts. unto the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, a Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas John Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmunds, John Ryland and John Sharp. To the use of them the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland , John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns IN TRUST NEVERTHELESS and to and for the several uses, trusts, intents and purposes hereinafter mentioned (that is to say) subject to the said Term of Five hundred Years herein before assigned. IN TRUST that the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp or some or one of them shall and will with all convenient speed erect and build, or cause to he treated or built upon some part of the above granted and enfeoffed Premises a Chappel of a convenient size and proper dimensions and compleatly finish the same and which said Chappel when so compleated is hereby declared and intended to be for the use and purpose of a Protestant Dissenting congregation of the particular Baptist persuasion and forever hereafter to continue for the purpose of having Divine Worship performed there to the said Protestant Dissenting congregation of the particular Baptist persuasion by a Minister to be elected in manner hereinafter mentioned and to and for none other use, intent, trust or purpose whatsoever PROVIDED ALWAYS and it is hereby declared and agreed by and between All the said parties hereto that it shall and may be lawful to and for the Congregation, or the Majority of them usually attending Divine Worship at the said Chappel so to be erected and built as aforesaid from time to time and at all times for ever hereafter immediately upon the death or removal of any Minister from the said Chappel so to be erected and built as aforesaid upon previous notice being given at the said Chappel for that purpose by the Members of the Church to elect and choose another Minister in the room of the said Minister so dying or removing as aforesaid who shall perform Divine Service at the Chappel and so for ever hereafter the said Congregation or the Majority of them shall at all a times hereafter in manner aforesaid proceed to and elect all future Ministers at the said Chappel so to be erected and built as aforesaid, And it is hereby also agreed that the said Thomas Williams shall and is hereby appointed Minister of the said Chappell. PROVIDED also and it is hereby further Declared and mutually meaning of them and of these presents is and the residue and remainder of the said Term of five hundred years herein before assigned is and was so assigned unto the said Thomas Williams his Exors. Admors. and Assigns upon trust that he the said Thomas Williams his Exors. Admors. or Assigns shall and will in case it shall be necessary by Assignment of the said Messuage, Tenement or Dwelling House, Garden, Garden Ground and Chappel so intended to be built and erected as aforesaid and Premises hereby Granted and Enfeoffed for all the rest and residue of the said term of five hundred years then to come and unexpired or of any part thereof to any person or persons his, her or their Exors. Admors. and Assigns willing to advance the same to raise and levy the Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of Building and compleating the said Chappel so intended to be erected and Built as aforesaid which said Mortgage or Assignment shall be nevertheless void upon payment of the said Sum of five hundred and fifty Pounds with such Interest as may be agreed upon and shall be subject to a provisoe for that purpose and from and after the said Sum of two hundred and fifty Pounds or such other Sum as the said Thomas Williams his Exors. or Admors. shall charge the said Premises with for the purposes aforesaid shall be duly paid and discharged. IN TRUST to stand possessed of the remainder of the said Term of five hundred years then to come and unexpired to attend, wait upon and go along with the Reversion Freehold and Inheritance of the said Hereditaments and Premises to protect and preserve the same from and against all Mesne and Subsequent Charges if any such there are anything herein contained to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding Provided also and it is hereby mutually agreed by and between all the said parties hereto that when and so often as the number of Trustees herein named or hereafter to be named in manner as hereinafter is mentioned shall be reduced to the number of three or less number, then the said surviving Trustees shall and will convey over the Premises hereby granted and enfeoffed and every part thereof unto as many other new Trustees as with the then surviving Trustees shall make the number of ten and for the same Trusts and to and for the same Uses, Intents and Purposes and with, under and subject to such powers, provisoes, declarations and agreements as are herein before expressed and declared of and concerning the same and which said new Trustees shall be elected, nominated and chosen by a majority of the congregation assembled for that part upon one month's notice being given upon a Sunday of such intended election anything herein contained to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding And the said Thomas Workman doth hereby for himself, his Heirs, Exors. and Admors. Covenant, Promise, Grant and Grow to and with the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Thomas Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns by these presents in manner and form following (that is to say) that he, the said Thomas Workman, now hath in himself good right, full power and lawful and absolute authority to grant and enfeoff the promises above mentioned with the Appurtenances unto the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs, and Assigns upon the trusts and for the ends, intents and purposes herein before mentioned and expressed and according to the true intent and meaning of these Presents. And also that for and notwithstanding any Act, Deed matter or thing whatsoever by him at any time heretofore made, done, committed, consented to or wittingly or willingly suffered to be done, they the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns shall and lawfully may from time to time and at all times hereafter freely, peaceably and quietly enter into, have, use, occupy, possess and enjoy the Premises hereby granted and enfeoffed and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurts. upon the Trusts and to and for the uses, intents and purposes aforesaid and under and subject to such powers, provisoes, declarations and agreements as are herein before expressed of and concerning the same without any lawful let, suit, trouble, hinderance, molestation, interruption or denial of, from or by the said Thomas Workman, his Heirs, Exors. Admors. or Assigns, or any other person or persons whomsoever (save as hereinafter is mentioned) and that free and clear, and freely and clearly acquitted, exonerated and discharged or otherwise by the said Thomas Workman, his Heirs, Exors. or Admors. some or one of them well and sufficiently saved, defended, kept harmless and indemnified of, from or against all and all manner of former and other Gifts, Grants, Bargains, Sales, Leases Releases, Mortgages, Jointures, Dowers, Uses , Wills, Entails, Settlements, Judgements, Statutes, Recognizances, Executions, Extents and of, from and against all other Gifts, Charges, Troubles and Incumbrances whatsoever the term of five hundred years hereinbefore assigned only excepted and fore prized And further that the said Thomas Workman and his Heirs and all and every other person and persons and his her and their Heirs having or lawfully or equitably claiming, or who may or shall have or lawfully or equitably claim any manner of Estate, Right, Title, Trust or Interest of into or out of the Premises hereby, or hereby intended to be granted an enfeoffed or any part or parcel thereof with the Appurts. from by under or in trust for him or them, any or either of them (save as hereinbefore mentioned) shall and will at any time or times hereafter upon the reasonable request Costs and Charges in the Laws of the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith Benjamin Bedford , John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs or Assigns make, do, acknowledge, levy, suffer and execute or cause and procure so to be, and every such further and other lawful and reasonable Act and Acts, Thing and Things, Deeds, Devises, Conveyances and Assurances in the Law whatsoever for the further better, more perfect and absolute granting and enfeoffing the Premises above-mentioned, and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurts. into and to the use of them the said Thomas Williams Lawrence Butterworth Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symonds, William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp, their Heirs and Assigns upon the Trusts, and to and for the ends, interests and purposes herein before mentioned and expressed of and concerning the same as by the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth , Richard Hudson , John Rowland , John Smith, Benjamin Bedford , John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds , William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland, and John Sharp, their Heirs , or assigns, or their or either of their Counsel Learned in the Law shall be reasonably advised, devised and required IN WITNESS whereof the said parties hereto have hereunto set their respective Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written -

BE IT REMEMBERED that this 20th day of May one thousand eight hundred full peaceable and quiet possession and Seizin was had and taken by the within named Thomas Workman of the within granted premises, and was by him immediately delivered over to the said Thomas Williams, Lawrence Butterworth, Richard Hudson, John Rowland, John Smith, Benjamin Bedford, John Davis, Thomas Flint, Thomas Symmonds (Simmons) William Belcher, Thomas Edmonds, John Ryland and John Sharp within named, their Heirs and Assigns upon the trusts and to and for the ends intents and purposes within mentioned, according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the within written Indenture in the presence of John Dee: Geo. Wathen.

And be it remembered that on the twentieth Day of May in the Year of our Lord 1800 the aforesaid Thomas Workman came before our Lord the King in his Chancery and acknowledged the Indenture aforesaid and all and every thing therein contained and specified in form above written and also the Indenture aforesaid was stampt according to the tenor of the Statutes made for that purpose.
