War Memorial - Maisemore, Gloucestershire

The memorial is a cross resting upon a large slab of unevenly chiselled granite, smoothed into 3 panels on the sides for the WWI inscriptions. The WWII inscriptions are carved into a smooth face set in the base of the plinth. It is set just outside the gates to St Giles's Church.

THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918. They Whom this Cross commemorates Were numbered among those who at the call of King and Country left all that was dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self sacrifice. Giving of their own lives that others might live in Freedom.
