This monument was erected to the memory of Mrs Heveningham
BRIDGMAN w of George BRIDGMAN Esq who was a man commended
for his wisdom, learning and loyalty in the time of the late
Civil war. He in obedience to the King's command to secure
himself from the insolence of Rebells, retired himself to
Cirencester and was there taken sick and died and was there
interr'd. She survived him in chaste widowhood 33y was to
her last end very liberal in relieving the Poor whose loss
they very much lament.
She died the 16 and was buried the 20 March 1673 aged 65y
and doth here underneath rest in hopes of a glorious
Resurrection.
