Introduction

The following table provides an analysis of Households and Occupations from Census Returns 1841-1901, demonstrating how the hamlet changed from smallholders to large farmers, and also coincidentally, how much movement took place, with only 1 family surname (Lawrence) appearing in all 7 census. Now, in 2009 the hamlet is even smaller!
