• Snippet from the parish register:
  "NB On Saturday March the Eleventh 1780, Bread was brought from Iron Acton to Thornbury, and sold at the following Rate: viz. Best Wheaten, Twelve pounds weight for one shilling, Best Household Whⁿ, Fourteen (pounds) for one shilling. At w^ch time Bread was made and sold in Thornbury, at much lesser weight, at the same price." - ex. RRL, 1988.
