"STALMINE, a township in the parish of Lancaster, hundred of Amounderness, county Lancaster, 4½ miles N.E. from Poulton-le-Fylde, and 7 W. of Garstang. Fleetwood is its post town. The village is situated near Wyre Water. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Manchester, value £267, in the patronage of the Vicar of Lancaster. The church is dedicated to St. James. C. Bourn, Esq., is lord of the manor and principal landowner."
