"NORTH BADDESLEY, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of King's Sombourn, Romsey division of the county of Southampton, 3 miles to the E. of Romsey, its post town. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Winchester, value £112, in the patronage of T. Chamborlayne, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. John. Baddesley Hall is the principal residence. This village is a meet for the Hursley hounds. "
