"NORTHINGTON, a parish in the lower half of the hundred of Mitcheldever, county Hants, 31, miles N.W. of New Alresford, its post town, and 6 S. E. of the Andover railway station. The village, which is small, is wholly agricultural. The soil is fertile and the scenery diversified. The living is a curacy annexed to the rectory* of Swarraton, in the diocese of Winchester. The church, dedicated to St. John, was rebuilt by Lord Ashburton in 1830, at an expense of £1,500. It has a tower containing three bells. Grange Park, formerly the seat of the earls of Northington, which title is now extinct, is a mansion built by Inigo Jones. It is now the property of Lord Ashburton, who is the lord of the manor." You can also perform a more selective search for churches in the area that are recorded in the GENUKI church database. This will also help identify churches in nearby townships and/or parishes. You also have the option to see the location of the churches marked marked on a map.

If you keep this page loaded for a very long time and the database is updated since loading it, the church links above may become stale and may display the wrong church. If this happens, reloading this page will correct them.
