Thruxton
"THRUXTON, a parish in the hundred of Andover, county Hants, 5 miles W. of Andover, its post town. A Roman tesselated pavement in excellent preservation was discovered here in 1823. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, value £390. The church, dedicated to the Holy Rood, was repaired in 1839, when a stained E. window was inserted by the Rev. D. Baynes. The interior contains monuments and brasses. The parochial charities produce about £17 per annum.
